An introduction to some of the techniques involved in papermaking and the creative applications they provide. Working to A4 scale, this workshop allows participants the opportunity to produce a variety of papers from plant fibre, such as Cotton, Abaca, NZ Flax and Kozo; and also to experiment using plant texture, inclusions, layering with colour and simple stencilling with pulps. Materials are supplied, but you are encouraged to bring items like small drawings, threads, text or other printed material to fully explore the creative elements and bring individual development to this taster workshop.

PULP was set up in 2005 by Alison Newman, who was involved with papermaking and bookbinding at GSA, both as a student and later in technical and tutoring roles.
